The Silk Road was an ancient network of trade routes connecting China to the European continent, facilitating commerce and cultural exchange for centuries.

In 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping launched his signature Belt and Road Initiative to further diversify trade routes between Eurasian countries while enhancing China’s access to foreign markets in the region.
